Default completely speechless

hey yall,

for my first post i was hoping to post some pictures of a new h3 that i had ordered and received but after recent events im lost for words and looking to get some advice on where to go from here.

around the last week of sept, the first week of october, i dropped a check for 1,000 and ordered an h3 alpha. during the last few weeks ive been making calls, probably about once a week, to my local hummer dealer here in baton rouge and each call is met with "we're waiting to hear this or that, we dont have anything to report just yet"

i called 2 days ago and after asking my usual questions i got some news that i really have no idea how to react to.

"well, we think you're hummer was shipped to another dealer and was bought off of their lot"...."but, we have some models coming in that are similar to what you wanted if you'd like to come look at them"

hell no, i dont want to come look at them.

anyway, after asking some friends of mine, i was told to go get my money back and try another dealer, maybe even autotrader.

what do you guys think?

also, when i asked about lease rates for an h3 alpha, the finance person through out a figure of 700ish per month for a purchase, and 900ish per month on a lease....is this completely rediculous?

i thought my alpha was more or less stripped down with nothing other than the sunroof, cashmere leather and black front grille...and i was told that the luxury package was included.

im sure that with the economy the way it is right now, i could get something like this with tax/title included for under 40 easy.

i respect the hummer brand, so i really dont want to be the first person to through a punch with something like..."the hummer brands future is questionable, you should be lucky for my business" type of thing

thanks in advance guys,

benn

Write a letter to GM C/O Rick Wagoner CEO. One of his assistants will get it squared away.

You shouldn't be paying more then factory invoice for any HUMMER !!!

(not sticker but invoice) also do not buy any DEALER OPTIONS but if you must, price them after the you make the deal on the HUMMER with Factory Options ONLY

Dealer Options are called "SUPER PROFIT"

good luck.............

Uhm... YES!!!! Demand your money back immediately. No waiting for someone to cut a check.

This is your biggest problem. You "thought" they were going to order an H3. Normally a salesperson will go over all of the options you want and give you a printout when taking your deposit so there's no discrepancy later. Also, it doesn't sound like you did much shopping to see what other dealers had to offer.
You should change your screen name because you're very un-Jedi-like.

I think Kenobi just got fawked by the dark side of that dealership.

That whole story sounds like BS to me!!! They should have gave him an order number, option to track his order, and the print out of all options (as mentioned above). I would list your dealer and "sales professional's" name...as others may have an inside contact to that dealer. Depending on where you are at, you may only have one dealer in that area. If you do have more than one, I'd walk or go back and talk to the sales manager and give him the WTF speach.

As long as finance is owrking, you should be able to get a check back immediately. If they didn;t cash it, just cancel it if you can;t work out a deal. I'd be pi$$ed off!!!!

You should absolutely get your money back, and I mean right away.Your dealer may be closing their doors at any time, and you'll be left holding the bag. This is no time to be ordering a vehicle from GM.If you're going to buy, make sure you drive it away when you give them your check.

If it were me, I'd get my money back. A reputable person/ place would have offered your money back as one of the solutions. But since they are trying to strong arm you on account of their fuck up, I say get your money back and go to a different dealership.

hey yall,

just a quick update here.

this morning i showed up at the dealer bright and early as their doors were opening and had a talk with the salesman and sales manager.

within half an hour i had a check with my name on it for the 1000 that i had put down earlier.

thanks for all the replies here, i really appreciate it.

as for now, im looking at other dealers close to home here in baton rouge, louisiana.

on a side note, the dealer warned me that after the 4th, hummer prices would be jumping again because of the end of the red tag sale. is it reasonable to believe that prices would jump 5 grand or so simply because this promotion is ending?

if anyone has any leads, im looking for an 09 alpha, red with cashmere and a sunroof.

thanks again guys,

benn

Fly to Miami or Ft Lauderdale right now...go to Williamson or Vera, order the HUMMER at invoice...

or just go on line NOW to their web sales dept and order the damn thing...

The internet manager at Williamson is Mike Penn, don't remember the name of the guy at Vera...

Yes, prices could be jumping 5 grand. Also, the price on your ordered alpha will depend on what deals they have when you go to pick it up, and not the deals they had when you ordered it. Definitely better to drive one home today.
