Am I correct in assuming that ALL H2's have a high beam indicator that seems to have a Xenon bulb powering it? I got my first H2 early on (August '02) and assumed it was just one of those "early production run" things (kinda like the light steering wheel airbag cover vs. the newer black cover.) On the H2's we just bought, they're all still so bright as to be distracting.

Does anyone have any suggestion on toning down the brightness (replace bulb, mask it off, or something else)? If anyone has done this, I'd appreciate your input. Hopefully, this will be one of the things they address on the '04's. I've had an SUT on order "forever" so it seems reasonable that if they "fix" it on the 04's, it'll be that way on the SUT.

Thanks in advance for any input.

oh my oh my. I was out driving tonight with the high beams for the first time and was going to post about them... but you beat me to it. I couldn't stop laughing when it came on!

The high beam indicator is actually used to weld steel in some parts of the world.
Mine was driving me crazy, so the first "fix" was to put a business card over 95% of the light. I made a permanent fix by using a piece of window tint cut down to the right size and positioned over the offending light so as to prevent further retinal irritation.
The tint is 20% and I'm thinking of putting another layer on it.

Glad you all "got" the humor in my post.

Maybe the High Beam indicator lamp is THE answer to all the chatter on making your DRL's into driving lamps... Simply mount two high beam indicator lamps out front, and Voila! Instant Daylight! LOL

Somebody inform the lighting group... ;-)

Seriously, I'll be researching this when I have my dash out and I'll post anything I find that works, or if there's a factory fix...
