Hi,
First post on these forums and its a question.
I am about to purchase a new black H2 with the lux package and I am wondering what the pros and cons are with the rear air suspension option. Is it worthwhile or useless and will it affect me giving the vehicle a lift at a later date ?
This forum is a wealth of useful information, thanks in advance.

Hey Froggie!
If you plan to get a lift down the road, then the air suspension is probably not worth the extra $$. Lift kits cost the same with or without the air suspension, but with the air suspension, there is a built in ability to air your tires up after they are aired down for certain terrain. I have it, but only use it offroad... otherwise, the ability to air up a tire from time to time is great.

PS.. the air suspension is helpful without a lift to improve clearance for offroading... With a lift this is a mute point.

I have 03 H2 with Lux pacakage, and Rear Air Suspension. I think the Air Suspension is great when I am Off Roading, I think it give you a much better ride for Off Roading.
I am not for sure about the lift.

If you are lifting later, please save the $ and nix the air suspension.

I a a big fan of the air susp. The ride on and off road is better, clearance is better, and you can air up bike tires, air mattresses, or sex dolls easily.
It automatically adjusts any time you add a load to the truck (ie 4 people, heavy stuff in bed, towing, etc.) and levels it back to stock ride height. For long trips with lots of gear, it is great. I am a builder/developer and tow a heavy ass bobcat. Once its leveled, it tows very well (almost like a 2500HD).
The added two inches does help off road. It has helped me from being high cented once and helped me over a big ass log that a non-adventure h2 could not get over w/o him attaching his winch to me.
I loaded over 2000lbs of travertine stone tiles in the bed and once I hit the key, it leveled itself perfectly. Even though that exceeded the payload, I only noticed the weight when I was breaking.
Oh, and I swear I dont get commission for selling the air ride suspension!
