it rained heavy here for about 9 days straight, had the truck out today it wasnt raining and first my wipers start goin on by themself, then at one point the windshield washer starts going non stop with no wipers.
later on the rear washer starts goin on and off?
im guessing maybe with all the rain the wiper relay got soaked? im gonna check the relay box under the hood tomm, maybe blow it out with air .any other ideas on the cause?

My 2003 had a very similar problem. After days of raining, the front wipers would go on and off whenever they wanted - no way to control.
The rear wipers would go on/off and it would continually pump out the washer fluid. I pulled ALL of the Wiper related fuses under the hood. With this done, nothing wierd happened with the wipers or washer, and I WAS able to use the front wipers with the proper controls.
There was a recall on the GM washer assemble for most, if not all similar vehicles (Suburban./Yukon, etc...)
Contact your dealer and have them fix it.
Happy Motoring!

I live in the northeast and we've had continuous rain for at least 10 days. My wipers go on by themselves and the rear wiper blew out all my washer fluid without any switch being touched by me.H2-USA did the dealer solve your problem? Thanks

Sounds like a sensitivity problem.

hello...new to this forum and learned a lot from you people so far. I had same problem and dealer had 15 others with same problem. Turns out that the wiper motor case is not waterproof and it corroded the contacts inside resulting in runaway wiper/washer syndrome. Dealership said there will probably be a Service Bulletin out on the issue soon...good luck...now I just need my a/c now it works on 1 side now it don't problem fixed !!!

Re: wipers gone wild
Sorry to resurect an old thread...but...
Has there been a recall on the washer assembly "thingy"?
It sounds that if you wait for it to dry out it fixes itself?...however it wasnt entirely clear if thats the case.
Im in the UK so I`d like to point my garage in the right direction if I need a new part rather than have him tinker on the H2 scratching his head and run up a bill.

Re: wipers gone wild
Ive temporarily fixed the manic wiper fluid by pulling the fuse.
Does anyone have a pic of the offending unit that I would need to replace or a part number?
I can pull fuses but thats about the extent of my mechanical knowledge

Re: wipers gone wild
This is the only campaign I am aware of for the h-2 regarding wipers
"General Motors has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2003 model year HUMMER H2 vehicles. Some of these vehicles have a condition where the windshield wiper motor may fail during use because of improper manufacture. If this were to occur in severe weather, driver visibility could be reduced, which could result in a vehicle crash without prior warning." Sounds to me like A faulty pulse board, if off warranty you can remove and inspect board for cold solder joints. Common problem on early to late 90's trucks.

Re: wipers gone wild
sounds like ive got something different - my wipers are ok - its just the washer fluid is continuosly spraying on the front windshield.
Looks like it will need to go int the garage for them to source the problem part.
