Air Intake
Has anyone installed a K&N Aircharger Air Intake on an H3 yet?
If so, what were the results; sound, HP, milage, etc.
Looking for more HP and MPG. Any suggestions?

I installed a K&N air intake kit a few weeks ago. #77-3044KP. It looks great! It is noisier than the stock intake, but can feel the difference when accelerating. I have not noticed better mpg, but probably too soon to tell. Also due to the case of lead foot I have in my right foot.

Re: Air Intake
Are you getting any DIC displays since installing? Or any alarm indication from ON Star...

Re: Air Intake
I have had no problems since installing. I followed directions, unhooked negative battery cable while installing, and was careful with the mass air flow sensor. It started up just fine when I was done. I just took a trip to the beach, definitely noticed extra power climbing the hills and passing people. My wife noticed when I was revving high, she asked me what that noise was. Definitely louder than stock when you stomp on it.

Any concerns when off roading in mud? Like it and/or water being slung onto the filter itself? It gets everywhere as you may know. Nothing is left untouched under the hood.

Re: Air Intake
I have not been in mud or even rain since getting the intake. There are a couple of areas around the heat shield that need to be closed off better to prevent mud from getting in there. The filter is washable, but if it was covered it would hurt performance.
Unfortunately right now all of my driving is on road. If I went off-road a lot in wet and muddy conditions I probably wouldn't use this intake. I would just buy a better than stock air filter for the stock intake.
