Where to stay in San Francisco?
My little bro is getting married in San Fran in October (and yes, to a female) so we're making a vacation of it. Anyone have some good recommendations for hotels? I'm looking for something nice, in a good neighborhood, with some attractions within walking distance. Oh, and we're bringing the toddler, so it has to be brat-proof.

Re: Where to stay in San Francisco?
If was going to San Fran for a wedding i would stay in Napa and drive in for the wedding. We stayed here last time:

Last time in San Fran we stayed at the Sheraton on Fishermans Wharf and the hotel itself was ok...the villagio was so much more enjoyable.
Watch out for "bushman" at Fishermans Wharf while you are there. He is certainly entertaining:
Also, Beach Blanket Babylon is an incredibly amusing broadway style show that in my opinion is a must see.

Re: Where to stay in San Francisco?
villagio is nice, my parents stay there when they come up to visit, but its a schlep to the city from yountville. If you want to stay in the city the Monaco is a nice place. It would be my choice. Lemme know if you need any more suggestions.

he actually scared the shiiiiiiiiiiit out of me yesterday at the wharf, get's me every time.
Stacy, the wharf is very touristy and busy and loud, I would suggest staying closer to union square.
