Does anyone know if the tire pressure monitor can be disabled?

ive been told that it cannot.
after putting my big tires on, the right passenger sensor wont read that tire, but will read the stock one so the dealer says im outta luck. so i have to live with that warning light i guess.
perhaps when someone cracks the ecu they can fix that. wont happen till they make a chip though.

True, but will the manufacturer of the aftermarket device want to take responsibility for violating a Federal requirement, and possible liability....probably someone will. GM won't allow it with stock programming, since it is a Federal Law.

Have you tried the reprogram process mentioned in the owners manual. I kept getting the light after I put the tires on until I did the reprogram. after that it all worked great. It is easy and takes about 5 minutes.
