Assuming there is some warranty available on the 03 is it worth paying the extra $ for one year newer?

Depends on the price and how it's equiped.
Newer usually offers more safety items, (usually can't be seen)
I can speak on the Nav unit, the 04 is better than the 03, but the 05 is even better than the 04.
just my 2 cents worth,
Tim

The radio reception due to the stub antenna on my old '03 sucked! It's my guess that is why they replaced it on the '04s with the traditional "whip" style antenna.

Some people say you should never buy the first year of build on any vehicle as there are always kinks to work out. Im not sure how true that is but it is a train of thought. I personaly wouldnt buy an 03 because i worked at a Hummer dealership when the 03 had only been out for a short while and they were always in the shop. This could simply be my perception as im sure the ones that where "always in the shop" where a small percentage but it tainted me. Specificly, it seemed like every morning we got another one in with the fender wells sitting on the back tires(air ride suspension went out).

I have an 03 and an 04--no difference to me--I like the 03 antenna better--truck looks cleaner and a small extension on the 03 antenna will amke it work.

Miles on the Hummer affect price a lot. Given it is a GM vehicle, it will all break eventually! Low miles is a good starting point.
