Toyo MT tire question

After installing the 37 Toyo Mts were , MPG plummeted..
Does it get better as the tread wears down?
What is the Max PSI you can inflate them?
What is the average mileage you can get out of these tires? I read some people can get up to 40k miles...

My computer reads 9.5 mpg with the toyo 37's. Not adjusted for size. About 10 % greater travel than Stock. Making the MPG actually 10% more.

I get about 30,000 miles on the tread

40 psi to 45 psi is about right forget milage with 37 inch mud tires. if you hand calculate the mileage you will get a real number the DIC lies. if you take it easy you should get 11 mpg with those tires . and when they wear down all you will do is cry because you will need to caugh up another $300.00 each to replace them . on the up side you have one of the quietest MT tires made and they are great off road .buying mud tires for a street drived vehicle are like getting married for the free sex ,it ain't free and it won't last very long .

The tire places inflated them to 50 psi...
So if the DCI is incorrect is the mileage incorrect as well?

Your DIC is calibrated to a stock size tire that is smaller than your 37's,the good news is you will log less miles on your odo, the bad news is you will lose some get up and go at the start and when your diong 75 mph your spedo will read less . 50 psi might very well be right ,not realy sure.

A few thoughts...

Yes, you will get worse gas mileage with 37's.

Installing 37's when the stock tires actually measure 33" tall would be like installing 3.23 gears in place of the 4.11's.

Technically if you were driving at higher rates of speed, you would be effectively lowering your rpms and thus get better gas mileage.

However, driving around town, it takes too much energy to turn the extra tires over and the effectively lower gear ratio will give you worse gas mileage.

Now, add on for heavier tires and the extra momentum/energy to turn them over and yes, you will get worse gas mileage.

I JUST replaced my 38x15.5/20's and got over 45K miles on them. I could easily get another 3-5K miles out of them. Just make sure you rotate them religiously.
