Anyone been to hummer.com and looked at the size difference between the H2 and H3. Wow I knew it was smaller but *THAT* smaller?

Dallion,

Perhaps it's all perception. Everyone argues when I tell them that the H2 is only inches longer than the Honda Accord. The robust width and height give it the perception of length too, I guess.

My brother is an exec at Edmunds.com in Santa Monica, CA. He spent many hours with the H3 recently and his first reaction was the size. According to my brother, it was much larger than he expected. Go figure...

Comparing the H3 in size to the most popular mid-sized SUV the Ford Explorer (which I can't stand), it is actually 3" shorter!, only 1.5" taller, and only 2" wider than an Explorer:

Ford Explorer Exterior Dimensions
A. Wheelbase (in.) 113.7
B. Length (in.) 189.6
C. Height – empty (in.) 72.1
D. Width (in.) 72.1
E. Track width – front/rear (in.) 60.9/61.3

...That is MUCH smaller than I expected and pretty disappointing.

And btw, according to the Honda website, the accord sedan is 189.5" long making it nearly 3" longer than the H3.

kacyk,

This may be true, because in spec wise my Nissan Aramada is about the same size as my H2, but put them side by side and the H2 dwarfs the Armada. The boxy styling goes a long ways towards making it look a lot bigger than it actually is.

I am still interested to test drive one

I have an order in on an H3 but am waiting to see it in person. If it doesn't have the appearance of size I am expecting it to, not sure I will take delivery. Based on some basic measurements I have done on the Mountaineer that I am currently driving, I don't think I will be disappointed.
