Hello everyone, I just bought my hummer and had a question, this seemed like the place to ask.

I have the 6 disk changer and wanted to replace it with a DVD/mp3/XM receiver. I want one that works with my car's computer, so I can use the steering wheel controls.

Does anyone know of a dvd player that is H2 friendly?

Hey,
I have the Eclipse AVN2454. As well as DVD/MP3/CD it also has a kick ass Navigation System.
The newer model is AVN5495.
I'm not sure about XM, as sat. radio isn't available here in Canada yet so it wasn't an issue for me.
With the PAC SWI-X adapter, you can use the steering wheel controls.

hey thanks for the quick response HummaBob, did the PAC SWIK adapter come with your radio or did you order it separately and is the PAC SWIK adapter strictly for the Eclipse or does it work with other units?

My car audio guy ordered the SWI-X seperately. I think it was like $40??

According to their website, the SWI-X will work with MOST aftermarket head units.

Hope this helps

you'll find what you need on this page:

a little slow to upload, but worth the info from pac.

HummBob, does the navigation system require a subscription?

No subscription needed. It's a DVD nav disc. The cool thing about this system is that you CAN play CD's/MP3 while the navigation is going.
I know you can't play CD's with the factory nav unless you have a seperate CD changer in your rig.

OK, I got the avn5435 everything works great, including the steering wheel controls. Only problem is with the speed pulse.
HummBob do you have voice guided turn by turn directions and auto re-routing? My installer spent 2 days on this on this and couldn't get it to work.

Hi, Yes, my voice guidance works. I know they had to use a seperate interface to get the factory chimes working properly, maybe this is what lets the voice guidance be heard???
