Default 08 H2 CB Install - HELP!

I just ordered a Cobra Limited Edition Black Chrome 40 Channel-CB Radio for my 08 H2 SUV. It's my 1st cb so it's gonna be a fun install.

I searched the forums to see how others did their install but couldn't find any 08's... am i the 1st?

questions:

1. is it ok to locate the cb underneath the passenger seat?
2. is there a power lead i can tap into local to the passenger seat?
3. i purchased an antenna roof rail mount... is a 2ft Firestik II enough or should i get a longer one

those are the immediate questions for right now, but i'm sure i'll have alot more once i get started

thx in advance for some much needed advice / help

Won't it be hard to get to under the passenger seat?

Mine is mounted next to my right knee and there are abundant power sources. I use an open lead on the interior fuse panel. My antenna is a 4ft firestick mounted as high as possible and I would still like a better range. It does work fine on the trail.

Yup. Tried it without one and i kept breaking the plastic grommet that keeps the antenna from grounding on the bracketry.

Sometimes people accidentally take them, too.

I knew you would say that.

Yes, there are some grommet theives our there. Be careful. There is no good CB antenna grommet anti-theft device on the market yet.
