Default Bet None Of You Had This One Happen...

I was at the Shoprite getting groceries for the week a few days ago. I wheeled my cart up to the back door on the 3. I was standing to the right of the door handle forward of the bumper and I reached out with my left hand and grabbed the pull handle at the same time I was reaching for a bag out of the cart.

I pulled the handle and the door started to open and I then heard someting bounce on the ground. I looked down and saw a pice of chorme layng behind me.

WTF...???? It was the right side trim of the pull handle...not the handle but the right hand tappered piece. The base where it was affixed cracked and broke lose. F_ _K..!!!!

As it turns out it was a clean break and I was able to Super Glue it back onto it's mount. I let it sit for about 8 hous and it was tapped to the door so it would hold untill dry.

Priced a new Handle from the dealer @ $28.00. But my 3 is still under warranty so I'll chill and see if this will hold up. My dealer is about 60 miles from me and at $2.88 a Gallon and toll's it might be cheaper to go this route.

So..Be carefull with your door pulls...Easy does it. Kinda lame that there that week and cheaply made esspecially at $400.00 list for chrome appearance Pacakge.

But...Who cares...HUMMER, Like Nothing Else...!!!..Still A Great Ride.

2.88 a gallon. lucky you. here in lower ct its now 3.09 well i'm the one who has to get the emergency brake release handle replaced. cheap plastic and i cant even figure out how its even attached. i dont see a wire. it snapped back in place the first time it fell off. now its clearly broken, wont snap back and they are replacing it. so i'm not shocked by your door handle problem. still, its a great vehicle -- so far. next month will be a year on a two year lease and i'll probably get the 8 cyl when the lease expires, altho the 5 cyl has been fine for both city and highway. i get about 16 mpg.
