Cant decide whether to get the nav system and give up the cd changer or get the cd changer
and an aftermarket nav system.
Any suggestions?

PS.
Is the sound quality the same between the regular cd/radio and the nav system radio?

I have a 2003 not the 2004 - but here is my opinion. From what I have seen, it is much better to get the CD-Changer and purchase an aftermarket NAV system (I have a Pioneer). Other H2 Source members (including me) are placing the aftermarket NAV monitor in very creative and functionable locations (according to how you work it and drive with it). If you get the 2004 dash mounted NAV you lose the CD capability and accept the location and function of this sub-part approach to a NAV system on the 2004 H2.

Just my opinion

I ordered the 04' but when it came in and I found out you have to drive less than 8 MPH in order to operate the NAV (not to mention there is no CD Changer option) I told them to sell it and reorder 1 without NAV.
I will most likely be installing the Alpine NAV

I am about to order an H2, and was all set to get the 04 with nav system, til I saw your post.
If the factory nav system wont work at road speeds, what good is it? So now I dont know whether to go 04 or drop back to an 03, with cd changer, and do the after mkt nav.
there are some deals on 03's, not much on 04's
What kind of price difference would you recommend i look for to offset the fact that a new 03 now, is still an 03 and a "year old" now, as far as book value is concerned?
thanks for any advice you can send my way

The wife got her 04 yesterday and we kept everything the same as the 03 except yellow now.
Not to brag but I got over $8000 off MSRP w/ GM employee discount and the extra $1000 employee bonus.
I got 2 cards for around $5000-6000 off a H2, a couple people PM'd me, any takers (they are free).
U get them for 'supplier discount' which is 4% above my discount of $6000-7200.

Unless you travel to unknown places frequently, which some folks do, a nav system is just bells and whistles--- kind of like why is an escalade even made as a 4 x 4? bling bling. At the same time, we must reallize that the majority of H2 owners will never take their Hummer off-road, which makes all of it's off-road abilities rather "bling bling" anyway.
