Hit deer need passenger door.
I had a 6 point buck run into my SUT last night, the damage is isolated to the passenger front door. Anybody know where to get a used door? color doesnt matter. or cheap body parts.
if i cant fix it for less then $1000 ill just go thru my insurance but would rather not..

Re: Hit deer need passenger door.
Used H2 parts are getting harder to find at salvage yards. I picked up a spare tire and wheel in June and the owner said someone came in with a semi, bought and shipped all his Hummer body pieces, frames, one engine, and interior parts to Montana. A good friend of mine crunched his rear side panel on his H2 SUT and it's been in the shop 2 weeks waiting on parts.
Deer have been VERY prevolent here this summer. So much so, that I put one of those deer whistles from Ebay on the front brush guard. Not sure if they do any good, but they're cheap and truckers use them.

I'm not a big fan of the deer whistles, usually it spooks them right into you, rather than away....it's a toss up when dealing w/ such a stupid animal

Starting combing e-bay, I see body parts on there and craigslist every so often.

Re: Hit deer need passenger door.
Hummerjim... i dont know where your at but the deer are always crazy here.I see 30+ a day roadside. When Im in my plow truck I pray for one to cross my path but Im not that lucky
wing.... no jerky he walked away,Maybe some 50.cals mounted in the grill so I can cut the F$cKer! in half next time. I never leave home without my mossberg and slugs but the area I was in that wasn't an option...
Boatin... thats a serious guard you got there I read the build post, if you cross a buck let me know how that turns out.
I pulled the interior panel off and did some further damage investigation, Looks like I can get away with a new skin and some time with the hammer and dolly. My SUT is no beauty queen its used and abused. I dont believe in buffing out scratches they are memorys to me. who knows maybe I wont fix the door.... Ill take some pics this weekend as long as everyone promises not to cry

Re: Hit deer need passenger door.
I spotted this post on CL this morning (Vegas):
http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/pts/1904145038.html
Looks like he has a right front door for sale. No idea who he is or if he will ship.

Re: Hit deer need passenger door.
Thanks for the links guys, I took it to the bodyshop yesterday they said I just need a new door skin about $300, the door frame is bent but not badly it cant be straightened . my problem now is the rest of the truck is so scratched that to blend it would mean painting the whole passenger side...
im gonna go with a complete color change i like the slate blue but its time for something new... Probably gonna go with flat black and a no gloss clear I like mine with no shine!!!
