I would appreciate a primer on tires. There is a nice rig with Nito Mud Grapplers elsewhere but is that specialized for mudding or is it an AT tire with a catchy name. I can't say that I will do any mudding other than in emergencies. Elsewhere also someone was touting Good Years vs. Firestone. My off-road sensei recommends Toyo. Others here have ProComps. Is it such a highly contested field or is there a clear winner? How about someone categorizing them in price categories, for me it would be $$$, $$$$, $$$$$ caegories. Thanks in advance.

NEOCON1: Nice rims! Those will look nice!

evomind: Those SSRs are the best tire out there. I had a set of 35s a couple years back and they pulled through the nastiest mud, and loved rock. They were really nice on ice road too. They were like having chains on. They do have a rather weak side wall in the 15" wheel size, but I understand the larger rim sizes have a thicker wall/better load rating since they're meant for big heavy pick-ups. They'll last a while too. Decent wear. Good choice.
