Default Hello, Im a NEW HUMMER H2sut owner

Im in Love.... I drove a 500hp Dodge Viper with 525ftlb torque for the last
4 years. THEN, my wife got pregnant with our first child. One miracle turned into another. I dreaded the "family" car, until I researched the Hummers.
The Viper made a one of a kind statement, and the Hummer DEFINATELY
does the same. Im sorry in advance, im gonna chrome it up a little more.
Its good for now, but I am going to add. Got 2 individual dvds with wireless headsets in it. And beautiful, 'carbon fiber' throughout the interior. It looks incredible in person. Very hi end looking. Im doing my Iphone for navigation so i dont care about not having the overpriced nav system. I will post better pictures once I get the hang of this forum. Ill be asking a LOT of questions, but searching first

Default my FINAL HELLO everyone post.....

I will find out if there is a way to post multiple images in ONE post. Sorry, I will get better in the forum here. Im in Downtown LA where driving a Big Ol'
Hummer is like driving with a giant middle finger in the air!! I don't "want" confrontation, but if LA has a problem with my personal choice to surround my wife and child with the best friggen 'armor' on the road. They can EAT MY GAS!

2 weeks I have owned it, and I am in love love love!!! My wife loves it too. She was not so fond of the Viper, that was more me, but when she got behind the wheel and a city bus pulled up next to us and we were 'virtually' the same height as the driver, WHAM, it hit home. She screamed, "I'm queen of the road!!"

Lastly, I bet Im one of the few guys, not only one, but one of the few, who actually paid MORE per gallon in gas BEFORE I got the Hummer. That 10 cylinder monster engine just ATE UP premium only gas.

I look forward to being involved some with hopefully, a new group of friends. Im NOT an off roader, but that could change. hehehehehe........

nice truck (I really like the carbon fiber interior).

I too went with a H2 because of the expanding family crew.

I noticed that there is only 1 set of the "latch" hooks in the 2nd row in my 08 H2.

Its located in the middle seat - not behind the driver or passenger sides.

As you're probably using a child seat...do you have latches on the 2nd row other than the middle?

I'm curious to know if this is standard on all H2s.

Im getting "feed" to death here in california. Our 'dealer' also screwed up the paperwork and are NOW trying to get us to pay for the fact that they did not
fill out a "fee" correctly. We only spent 8 friggin hours in the place, half of which they were in that secret 'room in the back'. After ALL that they call us today asking for $500 more money.

Im sure I will love the truck but the 'dealer experience' is proving to be very taxing. (in more ways than one)

since it was a trade, the numbers were sort of messed with a little to make
"things work" scary words at a dealer. That said, My Viper was a 2003
with 28k miles HRE 3 piece rims and carbon fiber interior dash, (similar in a way to the hummers) I got roughly 33 -34k for the Viper. I NEVER thought a dealer would come close to what I was going to settle for in a private sale.
Privately, I would have asked 41k and 'settled' for 36 -37k. So they got me.
the xtra 2 or 3 k I may have gotten privately was worth paying to save me the huge hassle of trying to sell it on my own. I could just imagine the test drives
people would have taken the Viper on...

I know Viper prices inside and out. So I am comfortable with where we were at. The H2sut is a 2006. My mileage was a little high for a Viper, so that hurt a bit on resale. 03' vipers are asking for 33-42k.

Nice H2 and family! One suggestion. Only keep your fob and the key on your ring. All of the weight of the other keys will put an early end to your ignition switch which can create all sorts of problems.

you are kidding me, iginition problems?! Is it just the 06's and when does it typically happen, (how many miles or years does it take) were under warranty for 14 more months.

Thanks for the heads up....

Ignition switch problems. It's true in a lot of cars. The weight of all of those keys will play havoc with the switch.
I had to replace one in the Corvette because of too many keys on the key-ring. Do a search on ignition switch and you will see how many problems that can be attributed to it. Just a heads up.

Congratulations Bro! I'm also one of those "few" who had worst gas milage before I bought my Hummers.... But it wasn't my 560HP supercharged Roush... it was the freakin' lifted Excursion V10 LOL
believe it or not I still get 21-23mph in the highway with the Roush with no boost of course... then if you step on it.... well.... yeah.... 10s... LOL
Congrats again man, enjoy it!

welcome aboard! I have an 06 SUT as well. Yup, the only place to attach the baby seat via those factory hooks is in the middle of the rear seat. Let me tell you, its a bit of a pain handleing a child and climbing up and in to put her in the seat! I love my Hummer and wouldnt want anything else. Looks like a nice well kept ride you go there. Check back here often, you'll learn a ton!
