How much is my car worth....?
Sorry... it's been awhile since I've logged onto this here forum. I transferred to a university and my schedule has been hectic ever since.
Anyways... Lately I've been debating about selling my 05 h2 SUV. I don't get to drive it too often because i live so close to school and there's been some family financial issues i hope i could relieve a little with the sale my babeeee.
Here are some pictures of my h2:
The h2 as of now has around 33,000 miles, is pretty much mint (besides a couple of rock chips in the paint...normal wear and tear stuff) and includes the following:
-Lux Package
-Air suspension
-Towing package
-Wheel/Tire Carrier
-SMA brush guard
-Bi-Xenon HID headlights
-Pioneer AVIC-D1 DOUBLE DIN Navigational system
-Diamond Audio S500's replaced on all speakers (including 2 12" subwoofers)
-3 amps to supply all the power
-Extra Optima battery installed
-Clear marker lights all around
-PIAA custom blue/white DRL's and side marker lights
So i was wondering how much can i expect to sell this for? Can anyone just give me the worst and best possible prices i can expect (even dealer trade-ins). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Btw: I currently reside in San Diego, Ca if the location has anything to do with the pricing of these cars. (i know gas is a bit more expensive around here in California)

Re: How much is my car worth....?
It's worth $5,000 less than Blue Book simply because you refer to it as a "car".

Re: How much is my car worth....?
Even Better idea is to sell the Benz in the background and keep the truck, you'll get more for the Benz. LOL! Just kidding, you should be able to get around $45,000.00 -$48,000.00 Amehican. Oh and just in case you are wondering about all those extras you've added, they are not worth anything in the grand scope of things, if can ballpark a price of what you paid for all the toys on it, you can pretty well expect a bout 10% of that back.
Cheers!

Really? 45-48k sounds like alot to me. I checked on KBB and it gave me the following:
Trade in Value - $32,475
Private Party Value - 35,675
Retail Value - $39,675
I was thinking of pricing it around 34-35k based on these values.... do you guys think that is a good price?

Re: How much is my car worth....?
28K is the most you'll get for a trade in (maybee less) and for private party sale I'd say 33K tops. I talked to the dealership manager and he said the problem with used H2's is that since they are in the under 30K range, a lot of folks can afford them, but either they cant afford the gas or they dont want to pay for the gas. A perception issue IMO. They will probably still buy and SUV or Truck with very similar mileage.

I can't say how much i agree with you because I've met a lot of people who criticized me about how bad my car's mileage is when their trucks are getting only maybe 1-2 mpg more than me.
On a side note, i think I'll be really happy with something like 32k. I just feel like it's such a waste when i barely drive it and it's just sitting there depreciating.

Re: How much is my car worth....?
Dealers are certainly low balling the H2 if you have in mind trading. I was out looking at the '08s at the local dealer down here in Georgia, and really liked them. Brought the wifes 2005 SUV loaded with goodies up with less than 16,000 miles and they only got me up to $26,000. Out of curiosity, I had my 2002 H1 in for service and I got a price on the H1 and they only offered $35,000. Changed my mind real quick about trying for a new H2 with the value dipping so low on the used ones.

Wow, here in Canada the price is anywhere between 38,000.00 to 48,000.00. For my 03 I can still get 30,000.00.

wow 30k for an 03 is great. I'm going to post my car on craigslist to see if there are any bites. If there isn't i might consider a trade in to the dealership... im just hoping i wont have to resort to that as i know they're going to low ball me.

Re: How much is my car worth....?
Sell your vehicle overseas and make a small fortune. 2005 Hummer H2's in Italy are running around $35-$47,000.00 Euros, thats like $55-70,000 US and even higher in the Middle East. Cost to send your baby over to Europe or Middle East - between $2,500 - $5,000.00. Biggest thing is that you need to have a reputable seller or broker over there to get rid of it for you and that you get paid up front.
Click on this link to see what a 2003 - 2007 are going for in the UK: (Don't forget to multiply by 2.25 exchange rate from Pounds to US or Canuck dollar)

I'm really surprised the amount of H2's on the road up here in Ontario, Canada....Hamilton/Toronto area. Especially with the gas prices, don't get me wrong I proud to see as many as I do. Its just that there are way too many canadians that are toooooo whatever you want to call it about driving big gas guzzling suv's. Almost everyone either walks or take's the bus. I drove my LX470 up here to take care of some family stuff, and it takes about 100-110 dollars to fill this thing up, and the Lexus is about as thirsty or worst them my H2. Also there is ton's of "smart car" up here.
Also, back to this thread, I wouldn't even try to trade your H2 into the Stealership. Sell it private!

Re: How much is my car worth....?
I've listed the H2 on craigslist but haven't gotten a single bite yet. It seems like no one is really into the market for the H2 because of rising gas prices and what not. If worse comes to worst, I might just sell it to a stealership because I'm about to move even closer to school and I'll probably only put around 1000 miles on it next year (I think i put roughly around 2000 miles on it this year).
