Amazing
At 90K miles i needed new hubs and airbags of course. Still running strong!
Parts are taking longer to get though, I had to wait an extra day to have the bags shipped from out of state
Totally stock except for the Rockstars, just reset your mileage counter and stay on flat ground while drafting a big vehicle and you can avg 16mpg on the highway

Re: Amazing
well he did say he reset his milage counter...
i can get 50 mpg if i did that too... doesnt mean crap..
i want to yell BS at anyone who says they are getting this kind of crazy mpg...
mark down your milage and fill your tank up.. get back to us afterwards with your end milage when your tank is empty.
if someone is doing ALOT of HW driving, and i mean alot.. then i would think thier mpg will be higher than most.. but i think anything over 14 mpg is BS.
someone is lying to you.. either its the DIC or yourself..
be hey, in the end.. its your money, iccl how you spend it.
right now, with about 700 miles on new gears, im averaging about 9.8 mpg with the mods in my sig. prior to the regear, i was at a solid 8.8 mpg.
i am heavy on the the gas when i drive, so yes, i could change my driving habit and improve it. bone stock when i bought my H2, it was at 11mpg

Re: Amazing
12.8 is respectable, and i woudl say very believable.. more so with a 6 spd tranny than the 4 spd one...
the biggest culprit is driving hablits...
if you have a lead foot, your MPG is going to suck. if your a conservative drive, it will obviously be better than most.
but there is only a certian amount that the H2 is going to get mpg..
even if you are going down hill coasting all the time... well at some point you have to go uphill too...
i think there was a article here or maybe i read it somewhere else about extreme driving habits.. like in popping it in nuetral when going down hills and such, and drafting other vehicles....
i could see if you drove a H2 that would be understandable...crazy... but understandable... but it is a major change in driving habits from what i rememeber reading..
i swear, when this motor finally craps out and i do a engine swap... or if i can find a 6sp cheap, im switching over...
bone stock, the 6spd is rated for 600 HP, but i think i would still upgrade it some more..
the t-case... i have no idea... not sure what its rated for....

Re: Amazing
while going down a mountian in second gear with no throttle i reset the DIC to check my mpg at the moment....99mpg
about 10 minutes later i hit flat ground and it went back to 10-12mpg.

Re: Amazing
Citiboy, you'll be lucky to get 10mpg with 38's. The best I've seen is 12.7 between fill ups. That's doing the math, not trusting the DIC. We have Hummers. Why are we talking about gas mileage anyway? We all know it sucks

Re: Amazing
I call BS---I've got a lead foot and can't claim mileage. But my wife drives like an old lady and has only ever pulled 12 on a tank after multiple tries. I can't see it getting 3mpg better than that "easily".

MAYBE an 08/09 truck, with stock tires, and a very light foot on the pedal.
Stock my 04 was right in the 12.5 or so range, on a mostly highway trip I could get around 14.5 +/- assuming there was no wind.
With 37's and a Hypertech Max Energy I'm at 10.8, that's about 30% highway, 70% city. Without the tuner, and on 37's I was in the high 8.something low 9 range. Although, within the last couple of months I've turned off the DIC all together and just drive the thing, there's no point in obsessing about it.
There was a time, a couple of smart phones ago, that I had a photo of something like 26 mpg (instant) at 75 mph! ... of course that was in about a 30 MPH tail wind and down hill!

Re: Amazing
I have 106,000 miles on my H2 and haven't reset the mpg lie-o-meter since the day I brought it home new from the dealer. It currently reads 11.0 mpg. I got a 0.2 mpg boost around 50,000 miles switching to Mobil 1 synthetic. I do a lot of highway, towing. winter snow and mudding at construction sites.

Re: Amazing
What's the big deal guys? A taxi will charge you $15-$20 just to take you 10 miles. So what if my HUMMER will only get 10-12 miles per gallon, I just spent $3.90 on a gallon that will take me 10-12 miles. I just saved $16.10, I think I'll spend it on pizza tonight. There was a month that I had to rely on public transportation( Taxi/train/bus ), it cost me $800 and I definitely missed the comfort of my HUMMER.I spend about $350 a month on gas.

Re: Amazing
I know for a fact that you can get at 15 MPG in a HUMMER H2 as long as you:
1. Are the only person in the Vehicle
2. Have less that 1/2 tank of fuel
3. Drive to and from work downhill
4. Fold in your mirrors
5. Be in a vacuum
6. and last but not least: Install the Tornado
What say all the neigh sayers now?

To hell with all that...just coat the front of the vehicle with Vaseline...you'll slip through the air. It's a guaranteed +5 on your MPG.

Hahaha, spanky, starkey, whatever. I knew it was something like that and I didn't want to go looking for it.
