Six months of research, blogs, questions, shopping around and finally I got some great tires and wheels. At least I love em. They have completed the missing link in my vehicle even though I had 18" Billet MC2's and Nitto At's. I know the majority of you dislike Bling and I realize at some point there is too much, but being someone who grew up surrounded by muscle cars I tried to get a happy medium between bling and muscle, so I ended up with Toyo open country M/t's (37 x 13.5 x 22) and Moto Metal 950 22x11 chrome babies. The torsion keys had to be adjusted to handle the increase in tire size which makes my BRUTE look like it's got a lift (actually about 3") There is minor rubbing only on a right hand turn and definitely noise on the highway, which I am a little disappointed in, but then again if I want the look I've got to put up with a little noise.. I also had to immediately get an alignment as well. Thanks again for your blogs over the past 6 months regarding tires and wheels. These discussions are great, despite some of the sarcasm which I imagine is only poking fun anyway but you also learn a lot..I spent 4 hours this morning getting the BRUTE ready for pics, but as yet haven't had the time to take them. I will have them by the end of the day. I also recently had a digital display and beeper sensor installed to assist in backing up. I really like my video cam, but never really knew how far away I was from the vehicle. With the new sensor additon, It's a snap...measures you down to a foot..Really a great add for the bucks..Pics hopefully will be on their way in a few hours...Da BRUTE

post reply, then click on the "insert image" icon and copy and paste your image in there. Should work. There's also a test area in the forums (on the bottom), you can practise there.

Pics just don't do these babies justice. They are much larger in real life and my truck is much higher..Here's a few more..Also included pics of the sensor.

From a non blinger, that really makes me feel good...I appreciate the positive comment..I can't believe the stares now, more than ever..Just love it when a plan comes together..Can't wait to take it back to one of the dealers who quoted me a price of $7995 and said he would give me a deal at $6500...Of course the name on the wheel was Vogue, which is exactly the same wheel as the Moto Metal only with a differrent center cap. It sure does pay to shop around...Speed and Truck World, Ft Lauderdale is the place for me..Did it for $3710 incl tax..incl the 3" torsion key adjustment. Another $100 for alignment. Well under my original estimate of $5k.

They range from $350-$600. I opted for the $600 only because it looked better and made for the higher end vehicles..

Great looking Truck. I'm glad you stuck to your guns and kept the look. I am sure you are going to get a lot of lookers. Great JOB.

I like the fact that you painted the H2 on the roll pan on the front. I took the similar approach and did the reverse. I saw the new 2007 H2 and got the idea from there (but I had always planned to try and make the H2 stand out) with painting around it. It was an all day event. I sanded it til I got it to look as close to chrome as possible, then masked and painted around it. I'll post pics up soon. Also, where did you find chrome rocker bars (the ones that the side steps mount to)? Nice looking truck!!...Jamie

Thanks for the positive comments.. Actually the black H2 on the skid plate is an adhesive decal, purchased on Ebay. Just cleaned the skid plate real good and applied it. Works like a charm. Should hold up real well because it is a little heavier material.. As far as the side steps go, they are by Manik. Link below. The side steps and rocker bars are separate purchases. I like them because they go with the body line curving upwards along the wheel well. Install on the rocker bar a little tricky but doable. Next add, wide fender flares to handle those WIDE tires. I'm planning on installing them this Saturday. Truck back in the garage to remove existing PIAA light bar. With new 37 inchers asnd existing light bar, it's a bit too high to fit in garage. I will replace it with the new GM low profile one. Should fit then.

The thing that sticks out like a sore thumb is that it has "H2" 8 times on the front and 3 times on the back. It is no secret that it's an H2:twak:

Thanks guys for all the positive comments. I do agree that there are too many H2 logo's. As one continues to add upgrades, some that you added before now don't look so good. I am going to replace the license plate on the front...I'll have to reexamine the back and see what if anything can be eliminated..DA BRUTE

Well, I took the advice of Tomp and got rid of some of the emblems on the front. I do agree it looks better. Tomorrow is a big day. Getting wide fender flares added for zippo since place I had them done put scratches on 2 of my original wheels. Not sure if any of you have seen the Bully twin exhaust extension made to be installed on a stock H2, but I am getting 2 of them added with some minor modifications on my Bassani dual exhaust. I think it's gonna look really sick.. Will post pics hopefully after the install goes well..Da BRUTE

Well fender flares got added then I bought the Bully twin exhaust extensions and hiked up to my Meineke guy and he installed them for me..Makes me wish I had a supercharger..Maybe next year..Fender flares look good, but it was getting too dark for me to take a pic. WIll do tomorrow and post..Also here's a pic of 3 less H2 emblems on front..Good advice on removing some of them..Thanks DA BRUTE

Thanks Rebel..Appreciate the comments. Finally got time to take the pics of the "Street Scene" Wide Fender Flares. Gives you pretty good coverage for the wider tire and they appear unobtrusive..Da BRUTE is getting there..Definitely have to get a louder horn..The dinky horn just doesn't get people to react, especially living in S Florida with all the super seniors who just can't hear...Maybe I can wake em up a bit. But I'd better be careful, don't want to cause any unnecessary heart problems..

Well, since I must have messed up the first time with the insert, here it is again, I hope..You can look back at the previous pics to see the difference..

What is the white strip on the tires signify?

After new tires and wheels were installed, I had to get it aligned and those were the chalk marks from alignment..As soon as we get some rain in sunny South Florida, I'm sure the chalk will disappear.

The torsion keys had to be adjusted to handle the increase in tire size which makes my BRUTE look like it's got a lift (actually about 3")

How does it drive after adjusting the torsion keys. I am looking to do the same setup as you (13.5 tires) but a local shop says it handles like crap after you adjust them... Any truth to this?

Nice looking Rig...... you definately did a nice job picking that tire/wheel combo. I like a little bling as long as you still maintain the rugged look. Very nice

Hey, I'm surprised to see this post pop up again...Originally I posted it in May 07..Since then Brembo Brakes, Magnacharger, Volant air intake, Corvette servos, QTP exhaust cutouts..It hauls a__..As far as the ride goes, it still rides like a 747 in first class. However, when you kick in the S/C at slow speed the front end feels like it lifts off the ground. It doesn't, but it gets really squirrely and feels like it is all over the place. I recently drove it 250 miles to get some air brushing on it. I pick it up Tuesday, the 25th. I chose 2 color mixes of Harlequin color shifting paint..Now don't go crazy on me guys..As you know, BRUTE does the car show circuit, so I decided it needed a little more oomph..Last two car shows, I won best of show, trucks and a first place, truck..It's been two weeks in the shop getting painted, so I am getting really anxious to see it done. It will have 6 clearcoats on it. If it is nice I will post pics, if it sucks, then I take a really lot of heat. But I am optimistic..The artist is awesome..BRUTE

Real nice look. I would do the same when I'm ready to change out the rims and tires. I'm a muscle car an too. I like a bit of chrome but not bling. Nice touch! I know the all blacked out look is very popular but I dont get it. I just cant seem to like black rims. I think those Rock Stars in black look terrible. (sorry guys!).

I don't see how it is possible for this to ride like a 747 by cranking up the torsion bars 3" when I did this on my own the first bump I hit almost put me into the ditch. I had to do the 3" Torsion Key replacement but even cranking them up still made it bouncy.......

I'm just very curious if that shop didn't install a 3" torsion lift key?
