View Full Version : 2008 bullet proof lifted
Hi all, I just got through tweaking my 2008 h2 with a 6" Bullet Proof suspension kit. I have 38x18.50x20 Nitto Mud Grapplers and SkyJacker shocks. 20x10 Diamno rims. I install and sell these lifts at our facility in Brooksville, Fl. This is a pic of my personal pride & joy..

Thats a great looking Truck!!! Lots of good pic's but I'm not a huge fan of the new interior's. How does the Bullet Proof suspension kit ride?
Thanks, I really did not like the interior when I first seen it and went to buy a 2007 before it was too late. Well, after driving a 2008 I really like the horsepower and the transmission better. I went back and forth trying to justify the extra 6000 for one model year difference. I am glad I choose the 08 as much as I liked the design of the interior of the 07 I was really disappointed in the wear on all my corners and buttons of the 03 I owned. The 08 is noticeably different in the quality on the wearable parts. I really like the separate a/c and heat setup in the rear with separate roof vents. And I noticed the NAV system was quite a bit more advanced in 2008 compared to 2007. The new design does kind of grows on you, But truthfully I really miss the dash Titties!!!
The Bullet Proof does ride like stock, The only thing is I had to back off my Torsion Bar because it was real close to the upper bump stocks. when you went over speed bumps fast it would bottom on the upper bump stops. I don't believe there is as much travel in the front suspention as my Fab-Tech lited hummer. With the torsion bars turned down I tried to set it in the middle of the travel.

Extremely nice ride bro !! Congrats !!! Hope to see alot more pics in the future !!:perfect10s:
Love the truck and lift! If you find some time check out "king or fox shocks" they cost but they are rebuildable and are used by the best in the business. They made a difference to me. I just cant believe the 18.5 wow!

I love the tires, they just look mean.
Will mudders give the H2 a different street ride vs say Nitto Terra Grapplers?
There is a trade-off between aggresive mud terrain and an all-terrain like the terra-grapplers. They do ride pretty smooth when they are new but as they wear down the Mud terrain will ride alot rougher. keeping them balanced and a proper alignment is critical to make them last where the all terrain its not as important. When I first bought the Mud Terrain I was told they were quiet. HA , Thats not exactly a correct statement, you can hear them a mile away, literally. but when the windows are up you can still hold a normal conversation. The main reason I bought the Mud Grapplers again was because I got 50,000 miles out of my first set and they were not 75% worn and I intend on using them in their respective terrain "MUD"!

Sorry to make you repeat yourself, but you got 50k out of the Nitto Mudd Grapplers?
So you're obviously happy with them?
I've got a set on order, just want to make sure I made a good choice.
Thanks.

Very nice!
Those tires are 18.5???
18.5 was a typo they are actually 38x15.5x20 sorry, I am very happy with the Nitto Mud Gappler. Make sure you have a good alignment done as with any aggresive tread tire. yes 50,000 miles on my last set with a 2003 h2 and they were far from worn out. I wasvery happy with them. I wish they were a little more quiet but otherwise very happy!

That's unheard of. You must have been extremely "religious" about rotating and balancing. I didn't rotate mine nearly enough, and when I replaced them at 22,000mls, there was hardly any tread left.
Awesome looking truck! :perfect10s:

Thats alot of miles for grapplers!!!!:clapping: I had the choice of toyos and Nitto's and opted for the Toyo open country. I talked to my local 4x shop and he mentioned the fast wear rate on the Nitto's. NICE RIG it looks "MANTASTIC!!!":perfect10s:

Great looking rig !!! Yeah I'm a big fan of the Mud Grapplers too, best looking tire out there I think. I have the Terra Grapplers right now but will be putting muds on next. Did you consider putting 40's on? Any Pro's & Con's ?
