Re: Nav Question

there is a few companys that make that not sure what brand i have. im sure they are all the same. i have a pioneer head unit that i use for my dvd player. but you can hide a dvd player in the glove box under the front or back seat for realy cheep. any stereo shop can do this install its prety basic. the stock nav screen isnt the best quality but it will work. i chose a different head unit so i could use the dvd and nav at the same time.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago for my 2005 H2 and installed it last week. Major pain to remove the head unit to install the ribbon harness but well worth it. You have to remove the center console because of a couple of screws at the base of the center bevel surround on the Nav unit. So this makes an easy job harder. Once the Nav unit is out all you have to do is match up the ribbon harness to the right link and reinstall the unit. Make sure you order the right year as they have different ribbon sizes the gm1 and gm2. I thought they said it was universal but they have a different one for every make and year. You would get charged about $800 and have to send away your Nav unit to get this installed, this way, you install it yourself for less than $250 and 2 hours of your time. Can also be used for a backup camara as there are 2 video ports.
