Somebody asked about my flares so I thought I would post this where it could be searched for instead of lost in another thread.

This shows them pretty good while in use.

Here is a real test! I figured it was gone but stopped to see. Tested by the Hunner institute of technology and abuse.

Looks pretty flexible. Do they keep your rig any cleaner? How about the door handles?

It was a knee jerk purchase when I first go it. I was worried about it getting dinged up because I went offroad at the Superlift Park the day I bought it and saw the mess it made. Oh well
I still get a little spray on the back fender fronts but mostly at highway speeds. I don't get any I can see on the door handles. I get some mud on the Rock Rails up front but not near as bad as I used to. I only have 7000 miles and have not really buried it in mud yet. I run mostly in rocky trails. I can live with some mud when offroading. I by no means am a clean freak. I like them most just around town and building sites when I don't want to slide down the rock rails covered in crap when I don't have on my muddin clothes. This too is really out of character for me but it's still new and I keep it clean. Im sure some of that will wear off. ha ha I am concerned about replacement if I trash one piece. Im not sure I want to buy another whole set.
My new MT MTZ tires are also slinging a little more outside edge stuff. I stuffed a back tire far enough to hear a rubbbbb once but all is well. They seem tough and flexible enough to not break,,,,,so far. It could have been in this ravine somewhere that it rubbed at the top, briefly. These of course are the AT tires. Still field testing.

Those look good and pratical. Did they install easy? Wonder if they sell w/o flaps?

Re: Flares

Yes I believe they do but I was unsure if another brand of flap would join up as good.

Hunner - What size are your tires? My 35 X 12.50's are busting bad into the E & G flares.:beerchug:

I think he may be outta town down in TX for a few more days, but I think he's running 285/75-16 for that very concern of rubbing.. I think he'd been hitting the flares with the OEM 33's and knew he'd be bustin' 'em up with 35's

Anybody know how much these stick straight out, in inches, from the fenders?

Re: Flares

Looks good Hunner, I just put a set on mine only they're painted to match. I was planning on removing the mud flap portions when I off-road. I had read in another post somewhere that during off-roading one individual hit something and forcibly removed a mud flap and a good portion of that associated flare. I don't want to do that - you can't buy individual pieces for replacement.
