New guy
From NH, just picked up an 07 first humma for me. Done a bunch of trucks and cars over the years thought it was as good a time as ever to try out one of these. Love the ride already. Do you sacrifice it with a lift like on most pick-up styled trucks?

Re: New guy
Congrats! Haven't done the lift yet so I couldn't tell you but I'm sure others will comment. Lets see some pics.

Re: New guy
X2 on the congrats and welcome to the forums! :beerchug:
anyways from what ive read the lift doesnt sacrifice your ride to much you just get more body roll. but your power goes to the sh**ter so be prepare to supercharge or drop in some new gears. but im no pro many guys on here can point you in the right direction. ask TIMGCO hes probably owned more hummer than years ive been alive :giggling: again good to have you! |
Re: New guy
Welcome to the group.:jump: Please send pictures some time.
We have a 2 inch lift with 35 inch tires on 20 X 10 rims and there is no sacrifice in performance or ride quality plus I have never noticed any sway / lean but with a taller lift you might. (I cannot say since you did not say how high you wanted to go) With larger tires you can suffer from lower performance and as others have said that you will most likely need to change the gears. Just some things to think about You will find everyone here helpful so ask others on their views also. ~Richard |
Re: New guy
oops meant to say performance was sacrificed with bigger tires. my bad.
typically if you go with 37s then a performance programmer should do the trick but 38+ normally needs gears ect. |
Re: New guy
RICO,
Sounds like you have the set-up I'm kind of looking for. Small lift and 35-37 BFG's. Do you like the silverstar lights? |
Re: New guy
You can do 2" of lift and not sacrifice anything if you do it right. Meaning getting the longer shocks, extended swaybar end links and upper controll arms. etc....

I really like that they are plug in, DOT approved and there is a clean white light over the stock bulbs. ~Richard |
