How much for a set of LE steps?
I?ve got my set of LE steps I took off my H2. I have (4) steps, 2 rails and the indented rocker moldings (both sides)
How much is this setup worth? Every time I look up prices, I see a pair of steps only for 200.00 bucks. Not sure why everyone seems to be selling only 2 instead of 4 but trying to get an idea of what to ask. Thanks, Mark |

I sold a set of 3 one here a year or so ago... I found the best solution for me was to keep the rocker trim that came with the LEs (with the cut outs) and just use the rocker bar as my step. ![]() Not that ANY of this helps you figure out your price...LOL... |
Re: How much for a set of LE steps?
I bought 4 steps with bolts for $320 I think. No molding. That was in 10/2010. Not sure if that's a great price, but at the time I was shopping that must have been attractive...

Re: How much for a set of LE steps?
It's a self-adhesive tread strip that I found at Tractor Supply Co. I've seen them other places too. I couldn't find the item on their site, but here's a link to a similar product on Grainger's page:

Re: How much for a set of LE steps?
Hey Mark,
I sold my last set of them for $300 earlier this year. There were some crazy prices on the bay for $125 each and they sold. SOooooooo :jump: Scott |

Scott, Was that just for the steps or steps, moldings and bars? Thanks, Mark |
Re: How much for a set of LE steps?
Just the steps and bolts, no moldings or bars. Shipped and included PP fees.

Re: How much for a set of LE steps?
Hey guru, you could do the rail mod and make those work even better. Not sure you've seen it, but you put some 1" spacers between the rails and frame to push the rails out for a little more protection. There's a post in the forum somewhere about it---your idea with the moldings and this mod is a damn good idea!

Re: How much for a set of LE steps?
Found that post from HumminNBoatin' back in '09...it looks like it'll be a PITA to cut and drill the tubing, but I like the look and additional protection...I ALSO like how it will make my 'steps' more accessible to man-feet.

Re: How much for a set of LE steps?
Nah, it wasn't my idea---I was just putting two and two together, literally.
I just really liked your idea of leaving the moldings on, but thought moving the rails out would be even better. I've got access to a slick liquid cooled metal bandsaw, so cutting the spacers would be cake! Clamp 'em in and let the saw slowly drop x 20 or so. Drilling out the half inch holes x 20 would suck, not as much on a drill press, but none-the-less it would suck. I'd recommend finding a good nut and bolt supply place if you've got one in the area. This will save you ALOT of money versus buying grade 8 hardware at Lowes or Home Depot. We had a place in Utah, Nut and Bolt Supply (Of all things!) that had incredibly cheap prices---I was able to get a bucket load of stainless stuff for less than half of Lowes! I wasn't going to pursue moving my rails out as I've got the U-steps and they've been working well for me. But the more I think about it, I'm really tired of touching up and the rock chips on the body from the tire flinging rocks. I'm thinking moving these out an 1-1/2" will give some good protection. Plus, it just occurred to me that along with access to the saw, I've also got access to the square tube, so I'll just need to buy the hardware. Win win! |
Re: How much for a set of LE steps?
If you're considering breaking the package up to get it to move, I would be interested in the side moldings. This might make the steps easier to move, although I'm guessing you would be stuck with the rails as they are a fairly common part.
Shoot me a PM if you like. |

I?ve got someone that ones the steps and you want the moldings, I would consider it. Guess I need to come up with a fair price. Mark |

FWIW, The moldings will need to be shipped up to me. I'm not really concerned about the cost involved with that, I've shipped SMA light bars for $30 via FedEx. Getting them secured so they can't flex and break might be the hard part. |
