Good post Aggie.

From a non-dealer perspective, RYD makes a few good points as well. However, his comments (which can be found on many car-buying advice websites) hold true for the really high volume commodity stores, not necessarily for Hummer. GM expects more out of Hummer dealers and somebody has to pay for that. If the store is run on supermarket margins, they won't be a Hummer store for long.

As for travelling to save thousands of dollars, yes that seems to make sense. However, if it hundreds, then you need to weigh the benefits of dealing with someone local. Yes, they have to service any warranty items on your car. But, they don't have to make it easy to schedule a visit, they don't have to give you a loaner or a courtesy ride, they don't have to invite you to their Hummer happenings, etc.

I'm not against getting a good deal, but I hope that Hummer never becomes like the large high-volume makes. That would do away with the exclusiviness that I like and eventually erode the quality of service.
