Here's a link for you IPOD owners that have managed to kill yours.
My daughter got caught by a crooked EBay seller that sold her 2 IPODs with bad harddrives. I stumbled accross this site that explains how to replace a HD.
It also has a strange way of fixing some HD problems. I'm ready to replace the HD after seeing how easy it it to replace, so maybe my daughter won't feel so bad about being taken advantage of.
