The Hummer bike is crap if you want to do any real mountain biking. If you're into the PhilD/Street Queen scene, it's fine. Get a Specialized, Giant, or Trek of you want a trailworthy bike that won't kill your wallet. You're going to need to spend $500 to get a decent low-end hardtail or $800 to get a decent full suspension.

When your ready for the big time, get one of these. I've got 3000 miles in this year and I can't say enough about the Yeti 575.
Now I'm not pointing fingers or anything but, geez having an expensive bike like that and all those miles, does that kind of make you a "leaf licker"? What? did I say that out loud?
