Default Re: WTB....sage green/olive green grill from the 2005 or 2006

If you have a chrome grill, just paint it. I went to my local auto paint/parts store and they hooked me up with the proper etching primer, and paint. I went over the complete grill with a scotchbrite pad, then cleaned the grill, 3 light coats of etching primer, and then an hour later 2 coats of paint.
Prior to prepping the grill, I heated up the "HUMMER" letters with a hair drier and the came off easily. The primor and paint came in spray cans, so no need for mixing, or using a spray gun and compressor. If you give the paint store the vehicles paint code, they can match it in a spray can.
I looked at purchasing a painted grill, and with shipping was about $375.00.
I painted mine myself for $32.00 and a couple hours time. Also, it is very easy to remove the grill. 2 nuts on each side of the side marker lights, then gently close hood, and then pull the grill off. There are 2 clips holding it on after you remove the nuts, but it pulls off pretty easily. Then, lay grill face down on a table, etc, and there will be 3 more clips holding the lower grill on. I took a pliers and gently squeezed the clips and popped the lower grill off.
Just thought I'd pass this on, on how easy it is to paint.
