MORE THOUGHTS: ...or try looking at 'lowering kits' for a 2500 Chevy/GMC. That should at least give you a good idea of what 'kind' of parts are necessary.
Our rigs might be 'like nothing else' in concept (big, fat, trail-crawling SUVs), but were still built mostly out of cross-platform GM parts; so what you're looking to achieve is not going to be 'impossible' or probably not even that 'impractical' on your wallet (even though I find it terribly impractical in principle...to each his own.)
