I'm probably in the minority, but I'd only want an AR10 if it had the forward assist. Just my $0.02. I hear the FALs are good.
I also hear the EBRs fit nicely on the 16" SOCOM and the 18" Scout versions. The EBR stock has a fre-floating barrel. I didn't get to check it for accuracy, but it supposedly will do a MOA or less. There are so many people doing them and some ARE doing them with FA but, I don't think they have the gas tube configuration figured out just right either.
I want that AR10 platform due to the same reason I like that monster you have. There is some interchangability. Plus it's what I am used to, I guess.
