Ok - I know I drive a disco, and I would love to own an H2, but give me a break here.
I was offered $9,800 from Carmax for my 99 series 2 discovery, at 65,000 miles. Other than slightly above average mileage, the car was in perfect shape, full luxury package, yadda, yadda...
I MIGHT pay $5,000 for the wrecked H2...maybe!
It doesn't look like the reserve was met, does anyone here think it will sell at that price?
Or am I missing something?
Kenny

Bidding stopped at $ 27,200.
The usual selling price for these cars (after it is repaired of course) is about 60 % of the trade-in value.

I hear ya DRTYFN -
But Hummer or not - it ain't worth $30k in that condition. Since it's not beyond repair, it certainly has some value - as a fixxer upper.
MY Disco went out the door for $42K...Too much money IMHO, but when those H2's hit the lots at just below $50k base price, I was definitely interested...
Does everyone agree that $15k would get the H2 back in shape?

The white one is not a good deal. It is in worse shape than the black one and would cost more to fix. The black one is a good deal. I was a autobody man 20 years ago. The black one probably just needs a front clip. By the looks of the hit the frame rails are probably not damaged. A bodyshop owner would be the only one who could come out ahead on a repairable. Parts are expansive and so is labor. After the vehicle is fixed the title is still branded salvaged which cuts down the resale value dramatically.

Perfect candidates for highly modified serious off road vehicle, chop off the roof completely, ever see those ugly mean offroad rock crowling Jeeps? I saw a program once, they basically made it from a junk yard Jeep, you got nothing to lose. You don't go to a bodyshop for that, you do it yourself with friends. You dig into your backyard or local auto wreckers to find parts. I can imagine those guys have been waiting for salvaged Hummers at a good price, looks like a lot of offroad salvage H2s are coming down the line, I've seen here over a dozen already. The black one at $15K should be more than reasonable.
You start by asking $27K, someone will offer $15K, another will offer $20K, pretty soon a deal will be made, then you take it off eBay. White one is not a good deal @ $27K, but not a bad deal to a bodyshop. $5K repair, $20K cost=$25K. Some kid will buy it $30-35K once fixed, regardless of the salvage title, we have all been tempted by these stupid deals. Just my guesses.

Since the last 2 are in the 300 mile range.
I wonder if these are some of the 24hr demos.
