I just finished adding some custom touches to my factory skid plate. I will post some pics tomorrow. I painted the skid plate black and polished the H2 logo. Came out SWEET!! It is a very easy mod for anyone who is into the whole BLING thing.

Did you polish it after the paint? If so, how did you polish it close to the paint, without wearing the paint off?

Need pics...

I did all of the wetsanding prior to paint. After paint and a day to dry good I retaped the edges, did a little buffing and hand polishing with Mothers aluminum polish, and it came out great. I will post some pics tomorrow.

Not practical, but i like it. I might have to find a skid plate on ebay to do that with so i can keep my current one for wheeling. Looks nice.

WORKIN,
I wetsanded the H2 logo with 1500 and then 2500 before buffing with a highspeed buffing wheel. The rest of the plate just got a light scuffing with 600 grit.

TWENTY2,
I actually live right across the border in Northwest Indiana but we could work something out. Email me at IBSRJOE@SBCGLOBAL.NET and I will send you my cell number and we can set something up.

i was thinking of doing this but using a roll on bed liner product.. after seeing yours now i really want to do mines too.
Did you polish first then mask and paint or paint first then polish.. which would be easier?

Ooops my bad didn't read you posts just looked at the picture...

I wonder if Line-X could do a detailed enough job to make it look good, then would have a warranty?

I have mine powdercoated with unpolished H2 showing as I refuse to bling... Didn't mind adding the black though.

These guys have been doing H2 skids since the beginning. They used to post pretty often, also.
