Can't go look at mine right now, as it's in the shop. I remember the console plate being plastic. Is the shifter handle plastic also?

Yes.
That's why so many companys sell the aftermarket billet one.
I have the SMA chrome with the leather grip. I LUV it. It feels way more substantial.

I have the SMA Billet one and it is really top quality.

I think it's all plastic. The whole truck except for anything installed by H2O or Drty or 4WP after the fact. I'm pretty sure that metal is not allowed at a GM plant anymore.

I heard the tire rods have some plastic in them as well.
