h2 front leveling kits

Have been a member for a little while but new to asking questions, having trouble finding the best way to level out my 04 H2, can someone direct me to the best and safest method in order to maintain the factory ride, how much does it need to come up to level it off, should I use an ebay kit or GM items and buy longer front shocks, which shocks part number and how long if I go that way, or just use the ebay kits with shock extenders. Thanks for your help.

Why not just torque the bars up? It says so right on the frame you need to adjust them with time up to 4in. Please school me if I'm wrong.

Just cranking the torque bars will put the ball joints of the upper control arms in an incorrect position/angle and speed their wear. The leveling kits available, such as the UCAK00001 from Cognito, rectify this issue.

Please see the above post for a link to a running thread that deals with steering upgrades but also touches on the parts needed to really beef-up the front end suspension and steering while leveling out the factory rake.

If the truck came out of the factory at a set height and it sagged with time and use offsetting the joints up, cranking the bars will put the ball joints BACK down in the correct (out of the factory) position. No?
Still just talking...


I'm justifying keeping this thread a life as maintenance one, not upgrades like the other one.

I have the truxxxx kit. Worked very week and was easy to install. Leveled the rig right up.

I found that when I torqued up the bars using Truxx keys that the ride got bad...speed bumps were awlful. The Cognito kit with the new upper control arms put the ride right back to the stock feel.
