Bwahahaha! Something I would do with a group of geology majors. Never explained why that fence was up further down the trail, however.

Re: Cool, funny H1 Rock story
the Psycho Squad is tight with the Forest Service. Today there is a recovery of an abandoned vehicle near Big Bear. A few weeks ago we got a full size bronco up a ravine and down the trail to a fire road so a wrecker could get to it. The widow of the man who was in it was being charged $100 a day for the "abandoned" truck sitting in the ravine.

Re: Cool, funny H1 Rock story
It's a very sad story. What I heard was that the bronco driver didn't feel comfortable on a technical section of White Mountan trail. He asked the trail leader to drive his truck over it for him. While the driver climbed into the backseat his foot hit the shifter into reverse and the truck sped off the trail and tumbled end over end into a ravine. When it hit bottom the jerrycans on the back exploded, followed by the main tank. A passenger (with seat belt on) only suffered a broken foot, the driver was critically injured and died on the scene. Both men were pulled out before the main tank went. This was about 5 or 6 weeks ago.
