Re: Got some P & B done
Where and how much are you getting it done for? Whats up with the mirror and door handles covered??? Wouldn't it be wise to take those off for the paint job?

Nice work, but not to hate, but I would have even helped him to remove the door handle buckets and mirrors. Did he not paint it in a spray booth??? Too big?? won't fit??

Re: Got some P & B done
Yeah, after being in the bodyshop business for over 26 years, I'd definitely say painting without removing the mirrors and door handles is a no-no.
I'll give it less than a year and the clearcoat will start flaking around the mirrors first.... hope not but realistically, it is what it is.
Other than that, got any pics of it done? The flames are heavily concentrated behind the wheel but I'll bet that when you stand back and see it, it'll literally look like flames rolling off the tires.
Pics please...

Re: Got some P & B done
Is it supposed to be a satin black? I agree with Mark though. I guarantee GM paints them with no door handles and mirrors installed for a reason....

That "satin black" is basecoat. Once he clears everything, it will all be shiny.
I never airbrush over basecoat. It's worth taking the extra time and money to basecoat/clearcoat, airbrush and clearcoat.
Less possible "issues"....
Can't wait to see final product pics.

Re: Got some P & B done
On that rare occasion I need paint work done, I insist on removal of all parts. The last time I needed the front bumper on the Porsche repainted due to rock chips, my guy removed the bumper and all the lights, etc.. Painted the bumper to match off the car, then when he was satisfied I'd be happy, he re-installed the parts and bolted the bumper back on
That's the easiest way in the world to tell if a car/truck has has paint work. Look at the rubber around the windows, the edge of mirrors, door handles, etc..
