We had 6X6 back in 70's and a Willis Jeep. I Love those rigs. I was 20 something and used the Willy's to run rice fields, before 3 wheelers. That or I used a dirt bike. I was never able to get Will's stuck. 6X6 hauled a huge water tank for spray rigs. PARAGON You would have a blast with the 6X6. It is not easy to drive or at east ours wasn't.

if you want the ultimate off road vehicle it would be the Hemmt. It is am 8x8 all wheel drive, front four steering. Has a 5 ton front winch, a 10 ton crane on the back. It will out run everything in the military. It's off road capabality is unbeleivable. As a Cav Troop commander we have a tendancy to, shall we say "stick" a few of our hummers. The HEMMT have yanked more than a few or our tow hooks right off if it was a little too stuck. It is made my OSHKOSH. If you are going to wish big, wish real big

In Germany I once saw an accident where a HEMTT rear-ended a delivery truck. Not a scratch on the HEMTT. The back of the delivery truck was smooshed at a perfect 45 degree angle.

HEMTT's rock.

Here's a couple of pictures of uparmored hemmits from my tour in Iraq.

Here's one with the armor kit:

Here's a couple with "hill billy" armor. We ripped the windows out and replaced them with a chunk of steel. By the end of the deployment we finally got armor kits for all our Hemmits and PLS's.

This is a 5 ton with an armor kit.

And finally here's an LMTV with hill billy armor (I drove it 4 days from Kuwait like that.) That's my driver and gunner.

And one with an armor kit.

All too familiar.

It was a true test- back down a mountain trail of boulders, loved ones in your path with a 5 ton and a mission trailing you 5 feet down after you.

Man but the diesel in that thing sounded sweet. They had to replace the old I-6 with a Cummins V-8 or sumthin.
