Hey Badrap,
I think thats great. I am glad things are working out for you. I hope your new one gives you as much pleasure as most of us get.
One question.......why the change of color????

Just decided that I would do an entire change on this one, so I changed color as well.. Might be a good thing and might be a bad thing..

BADRAP,
Nice going!!! Join my club!! I purchased my first H2 on 23NOV02 and by 01APR03 it had been in the shop for 62 days. I was more familiar with a crown vic (that I had for 3weeks straight) than my own rig. The GM(Jeff Jennerjohn) of Hannah Hummer was AWESOME!! He went to bat for me and really took on the worthless piece of **** regional rep(Kelly). On the extremely rare occassion(twice) that I was able to actually speak(on the phone- never in person) with Kelly, he had the audacity to say that he wouldn't authorize a buy-back. I told him that by law anything over 30 days in a calender year gives the consumer the capability of legally requesting a lemon law buy-back and that I hoped he was going to have fun explaining why he had the opportunity to voluntarily buy the troubled H2 back but didn't. It took a couple of weeks for him to right himself of his cranial-rectal impaction. I got my second one on 11MAY03, and had the windows tinted, wheels & tires and black mirrors & door handles swapped over and had the muffler reinstalled.
A couple of differences that I've noticed:
1. Brushed aluminum bezel around the speedo & tach
2. No coat hooks on the rear handles
3. No two tone steering wheel
One thing that still SUCKS:
THE HEADLIGHTS!!! There's still no way to adjust the horizontal alignment!!
Even after all of the trouble my first H2 gave me I still loved it. There is nothing like it.

Thanks Dennis, but at this point I'd just settle for a new one, or alternatively a refund so I can finally be rid of this one and buy a new one!!!
My two latest major problems were an emergency air bag system failure and a leaking fuel line, over 70 days in the shop now. Still nothing from GM/Hummer and this has been going on for a loooooong time now...but if nothing else, maybe I helped pave the way with GM for at least a few of the others who came along with lemons after me.
Congratulations BADRAP!!! I'm glad to hear that "hell has frozen over" and you'll be getting the new one that you deserve. So far nothing, zip, zilch for me...but I'll let you know "when pigs fly"

TJ,
Where do you live? Call the GM of your Hummer dealership and inform him/her of your intention to pursue an involuntary buy-back. Offer to allow him/her to rectify the situation by convincing the regional rep to offer a voluntary buy-back.

Thanks DRTYFN, but unfortunately I'm afraid that it's gone way beyond that. Asking for a voluntary buy-back or a replacement simply didn't work. As someone else said...been there, done that, got the T-shirt. The "best" that they could come up with was to offer me one year's worth of free oil changes. I am getting ready to put my H2 up for auction on eBay within the next few weeks or so though...along with full disclosure to any potential bidders/buyers of course...so I'll post the link to it when I get it up on eBay if you want. It's going to be a pretty expensive reserve price though...after all, practically my whole H2 has been completely rebuilt, some parts of it more than once! Think I should paint some lemons all over it before I take the photos?

TJ--What state are you in? In most states if you get no satisfaction from the dealer and the vehicle meets certain criteria as a lemon, the dealer has no choice but to buy it back from you. This can be enforced by the state. Do a search for your state under "lemon laws". Dont let them win here.

BADRAP, I think you should celebrate by buying a whole new exhaust system. Headers and all.
Glad to hear you got some satisfaction.

Well I may have spoken too soon, seems there is a lot of paper work going on right now and like I said earlier I will know more on Monday...I figured that I would be able to trade and be done, but they are talking about using all different angles to do this, and I told them as long as no money comes out of my pocket we will be ok... So we shall see...
