The H1 seats are among the most comfortable seats I've ever used. I can drive in them for 9-10 hours and feeld good getting out.

Venture a guess you'd have a different opinion were you to ride in a 2 Dr. (non-enlarged cab) Hard Top model for 9-10 hours straight
It is true '97 & newer seats are a vast improvement over all previous seats used in the HUMMER (H1).

I've had a '95, '99 and '03. They all had the same seats, all were wagons. Maybe the 2 door had different seats? I know a lot of the two doors were intended as commercial packages, maybe they had "commercial" seats.
Now the '04 and '06 seats seem to be a major downgrade in comfort to me. They do give the rear seat passangers a better view - but for me it's all about the driver.

The ISRI front seats installed by AMG in '95 4-DR. models were very different than those installed in '97 - '03. The '95 & '96 seats were somewhat of an improvement over all previous seats, but it wasn't until AMG got RACARO interested in providing seats did ISRI get really serious about making much more "comfortable" seating for the '97 (thru '03) HUMMERs.
