my 04 h2 came with spare in back adjacent to third seat. do you recomend putting in rear or up top on roof to make room for another third seat(have need for 7 seating)? should I get spare tire holder/bracket and third seat from dealer or aftermarket?

DrBill, I would recomend putting the tire on a spare tire carrier on the rear. On the roof looks cool but is not as easily accessible and only further cuts down on where you can park. Check the H2Source on line store for different carriers for different options. Good luck and hope this helps. Check out the site below for the model that I offer.

Hi Dr Bill,

Putting the spare tire on the roof or on a tire carrier are the options available. The roof is out of the way but most H2 owners do not use this option because of the clearance issue the tire will bring and the effort it will take to put it on the roof and bring it down when needed. It is not light in weight, 80lbs+. Most H2 owners prefer to purchase a tire carrier to mount on the rear bumper of the H2. It will swing away to open the rear hatch storing the tire there will make it much easier to remove when you need it. There are also covers you can put over the tire when mounted on the carrier so to protect the tire from the weather and make the spare integrate to the rear of the H2. These covers come soft and hard materials so to give the look the owner wants. Hope this helps a bit. BIG-C

The 3rd seat from the dealer is only half of a seat. If you want the full seat, you have to go with the aftermarket seat.
