I had the same complaint. Talked to my Service rep and he said G.M. is possibly coming out with a adjustment bracket for the brake pedal. Call your dealership and ask about the status. I havent heard much and I was complaining back in August.

I think this will apply more to cold climates or wide feet
Ya i have a minor issue with that too , Snow boots for Michigan dont fit in there well at all

I have been in 3 different 3's and found the brake pedal and gas pedal are at different lengths between one another.

On ours, the carpet has about 1/2" space under it which makes the space between the carpet and the brake pedal less than it would be if the carpet were glued down tight.
Even so, ours is OK for size 10 shoes. I think boots would be a tight fit.
Best regards,

they are a little close, but this doesn't bother near as much as the fact I've got long legs and the pedals are way too far forward... on roadtrips I have to tuck my flopping feet behind the pedals to be comfortable... not the safest thing but if I wanted to live life safe I wouldn't go offroading either.

Really?
While the pedals are a bit close together and offset slightly to the right, they're hardly inconvenient. Try driving any Italian sports car and then tell us what you think.

Yup, with hiking boots on or the Skechers that my wife bought me to wear while my knee gets better, I've got very little room indeed. My foot has to be straight up and down to slide to work the gas pedal without catching the brake pedal. I do hope there's a fix, I could use an extra 1/2".

Yes, with hiking boots, no with tennis shoes or dress shoes. But, I seem to have adapted to it.

I wear a size 15 shoe so yes, I believe they are too close together. I will be waiting for this adjustment as well.

I thought the pedals were close for
extreme heel-toe race driving... :-)
I too have large Sorel Glacier Boots
that are a problem, so I have to take them off
when driving the H3 (as with most vehicles).

When I test drove the H3 in early July 06 I did not notice the narrow spacing between brake and gas pedal. Probably was wearing shoes with narrow soles when I did the test drive. After doing research on the H3 and other SUV's, along with test driving them, I made the big decision and ordered my H3 (birch white, LUX pckg). My girlfriend and I love the H3, but my only complaint is the brake/gas pedals being to close to each other. When I wear shoes with wide soles, I'm constantly getting stuck between brake and gas medal. Hope there is a fix being addressed for this problem.
