Here in Memphis I drove to the HUMMER dealer on Saturday for an oil change. There was less then a 1/2 inch of ice. I got to the dealer only to find the sales staff working but the service department was closed due to the weather. What kinda crap is that?

I did have a bit of fun......in case your wondering a H3 can do doughnuts!!!

The spray off the front tires built up about 2 inches of ice on the rear fender.....result, can't open the back doors. Bummer.

Not the best idea using your locker when doing donuts. If you should happen to catch traction you'll grenade your rear end.

WFT?!?!? Why is the ONLY dealership with service on the weekend is Toyota?

I don't understand most service or retail stores which are closed on the weekends... that's when the majority of the working folk can get out to get the oil changed, buy new tires, etc...

We're open 7:30-7:00 M-F, 7:30-5:00 Saturdays.

Just for comparison. Not for advertising. Anyone thinking of getting their car serviced at whatever dealership it is that I work for as a result of this post should not.

How long have you lived in Memphis? I lived for seven years about 35 miles south of Nashville, and 1/4 inch of snow closed everything, and the day before the locals loaded up with toilet paper and milk at the local Piggly Wiggly store. From my experience with how the locals drove on snow, it is best they were not on the icy roads.

I am in the NAVY. I just got back from five years across the pond. Still don't understand how a little ice could close the service department but not the sales department.

Salesman have bigger nads? Probably the sales people drive demos and don't care if they wreck 'em, where the technician has to drive his own vehicle? Does sound strange, but hate to say, get used to it. Tennesseans and those farther south do not like to drive in snow or on ice, and having lived there, believe me when I say, it is better that most of them don't drive under those conditions.
Nothing like seeing pick'em-up trucks spinning in circles with a dog in the back bed (or the wife) barfing due to the spinning.
