Color of diode for headlight mod?
I was doing some reading and forgot about the headlight mod that I had done in my '03.
I remember how to do it but over the years, I've got TONS of diodes laying around. Does anyone know what color stripes are for part No. 276-1102?
I know they're not expensive but since I've got them laying around, I'd just rather do the mod now than wait until Radio Shack opens.
Thanks,
Mark

Re: Color of diode for headlight mod?
Diodes aren't color coded, resistors are. Diodes only have a stripe at one end to indicate polarity. Typically black with a silver stripe at one end.
The Rat-shack diode may have IN4003 printed on it. Thats what the 276-1102 actually is.
Hope it helps.

OMG, I'm so stupid. Thanks Dave, didn't realize I was thinking of resistors.
Guess I'm making a trip to RS afterall.
Thanks,

Re: Color of diode for headlight mod?
Made a post in the DRL mod post but I'll post it here too. I picked up a few diodes today. I soldered and heatshrunk them. I've got 3 extra.
For the first 3 people that PM me, I'll send one in the mail. Just email me your address.

Re: Color of diode for headlight mod?
Hey Mark,
Glad to see you back in the game.
Mark I did the DRL mod in summer of 2004 on my 2005 H2. I never used the diode and never had problems.
I kept meaning to ask why use the diode?

Hey Taz, Thanks, glad to be back. I really realized how much I missed being in an H2 when I drove off in my new one....
I did the mod too on my '03 and never used a diode. This time, I just wanted the DRL's on only during the day.
