What chrome parts can be painted on the H2 and..
how do you prep it fot the paint to stay? I want to paint my Cross bars on the roof along with the light bar. Also can the mirror chrome, hood handles, gas cap, and etc be prepped and painted so that it will not flake off?

Hi I would powder coat the steel and aluminum parts.

...and I would Line-X everything! 
I would imagine if you sand the surface, primer, then paint with a quality hard enamel (or spray bedliner) you'd be fine painting any of them.
