Default Gobi Recovery Loop Steps SPACER

I recently acquired a set of Gobi recovery loop steps (PN: GH2RLS http://www.gobiusa.com/store.php?crn...on=show_detail) from thefinestimage. This afternoon I was planning on refinishing them for an install this weekend only to discover that they do not fit my recovery loops.

A little research has led me to believe that the 'tire carrier' recovery loops are 'deeper' then the standalone recovery loops. The Gobi product does not slide far enough back over the recovery loop base to fit flush.

Some threads on here have mentioned 'spacers' that were offered by Gobi to remedy this problem, but I have been unable to find the actual product anywhere. Thoughts?

Worst case scenario, I'll prolly just rig something up or take them to the welding shop and have them thicken them up, but I thought I'd check with ya'll first.

Hey Brent, what did you decide to do to make the Gobi Reovery Loop Step work?

Nothing yet. I'm waiting to hear from a few vendors about the spacers. I've been in the Bahamas all week so I haven't had a chance to check with my welding guy yet. Fabbing something is prolly the route I'll have to go.

Those still look like you could tear a nut trying to step up to them.

Here is what I'm toying around w/ -

I am building custom steel bumpers. I havn't had a chance to call Amp yet. There are a bunch of different mounting options for that step. I'm sure I can get one of them to work.

Your prolly right on ya'lls lifted rigs. Mine's merely leveled with rear spring spacers and 37s...I think the Gobis will still work for me.

I'm anxious to see how yours turns out though...keep us posted.

I heard back from Tim over at Expedition Hardware (www.expeditionhardware.com). The Gobi kit comes with longer bolts and spacers; $25 shipped.

My order is already in...
