Villa Rica-based Avanti Motor Corp. has settled a federal trademark infringement suit with General Motors Corp. involving Avanti's planned launch of its Studebaker XUV.
In the suit, which GM filed in February, the automaker said the Studebaker XUV looked too much like GM's own Hummer H2.
The settlement, signed late Thursday, is expected to be presented to a federal court judge next week, GM spokeswoman Brenda Rios said.
It calls for Avanti to change the Studebaker design so that it is not "confusingly similar" to the Hummer H2, she said.
