Had my H3 appraised
Well, I ordered my new full size pickup yesterday so the 3 has to go, can't afford two vehicles and need a truck. I took my H3 to Carmax to see what they would give me for it, and it's a bit dissapointing. I know I can get a better deal selling it outright but hate dealing with that plus Carmax has given me fair deals in the past. Anyway a quick run down, I have an 06 white adventure, cashmiere interior, automatic, wilderness roof rack, chrome grill guard, rocker protection, DOI winch mount w/warn m8000 winch, and Sirius sat radio. I get offered 16500 becuase it has 51000 miles and is out of warranty plus it has one window ding pretty big but has been filled under the rear view mirror, and the rear fenders have rock chip/dings from the front tires throwing debris. I thought I'd post this so others would have an idea what they are appraising H3's in my condition, at least in the Houston area. Meanwhile I'm looking at other options the only problem is coordinating the sale around the delivery of the new truck.
Wish me luck, Steven

Re: Had my H3 appraised
They're offering the lower end of the spectrum, you should get 18-19K out of that truck, 20K if your lucky, I guess it depends on demand in the area and the number they have access to.

Field Scout,
What about selling the roof rack and maybe even the winch? depending on shipping I could be interested... It seem's like you are giving them away.

Can't take the winch off no longer have the piece of the front end it replaces, not sure what the shipping would be on the rack, it's kinda heavy but I'll shoot you a pm on the price

Why is your 2006 H3 already out of warranty?

Re: Had my H3 appraised
Because 2006 H3's had warranty of 4yrs/50,000miles. I believe 2007 is when they changed it to 100,000k. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Had my H3 appraised
'06's only have a 50K warranty....unless you bought an extended warranty.

Re: Had my H3 appraised
Yes, that's right, 4 years or 50k on the '06 H3's. I totally forgot and I have an '06 H3! BUT, I was given an extension (75k or til 2011 ... whichever comes first) on mine due to all of the problems I had had in the beginning and my complaints to GM. Full warranty (not drivetrain only), except for paint and detailing.

Re: Had my H3 appraised
I was considering selling my 3 as well. I have been contemplating selling my 3 for a month now because of all the problems i've had with it. Actually I put an ad in the trader but no responses. I was reconsidering to keep it after no responses but then the car started shutting down while driving, which I think was very dangerous, even on the way to the dealership to get it fixed it happened. That was the last straw for me. I took it to carmax today and they offered me $21,000 for my 06" h3 Lux/Adventue w 34,000 miles on it. I just might take it and look for my next GM.

I can't say I have any problems now after all is said and done. I had an early build date .. purchased end of July, '05. Being a new model off the production line, I had my share of grief .. hood repaint twice due to moisture under the clearcoat during shipment to the dealer, problem with stabilitrack, cylinder head, rotors, an engine problem, and a few other things I've subconsciously blocked from my mind already. After talking to F5fstop, fourfourto and others .. they got me to where I needed with my H3. It's fine now. I've just always wanted an H2 ... tis the only reason I'm working on trading my H3 in for one.

Mine was shutting down as well, but I believe that dealer replacing the ignition switch, fixed it.

Re: Had my H3 appraised
I also had a disappointing trade-in appraisal. Bought the wife an SUV, so was looking to unload the H3. Leased the H3, so looked into a dealer buying out the lease for a trade. Mine is an '06 Adventure with 25k miles. They only offered around 19k. I've decided to keep it thru end of lease. Really glad I didn't purchase now, because I would be WAY upside down...

Re: Had my H3 appraised
Get it detailed and sell privately. Similar ones to yours are going for around $19K - $21K here. Or you can do it the way Paragon did it by selling on E-Bay and tell em it was "Mildly" wheeled.
