possible Hummer brand sell and warrenty?
hey guys and gals,
since my wife and i just purchased our first home, im now in the position where i am going to have to quit driving sporty cars and get into a truck.
when i started reading about the h3t it fit what i wanted as it has the offroading which is something ive always wanted to get into, but liking sporty cars more i never have.
my question is what would happen to owners of hummers with remaining warrenty IF the Hummer brand was sold off?
i know as of now there is absolutely no concrete evidence that this will even happen, but i dont want to get into a new vehicle with warrenty then get slapped in the face with a warrenty that is as good as the american dollar is currently worth.

I can tell you what they did when they discontinued the Oldsmobile. They sent the owners a letter with the name of the nearest GM dealer where they said they would honor any Olds warranty issues. My brother owned one and was pleased with the service he got from the Pontiac/Cadillac dealership they sent him to.

Re: possible Hummer brand sell and warrenty?
i am not a domestic vehicle person at all to be honest, hence my not really keeping up with them. i have yet to own an american made vehicle and am still pretty aprehensive about buying american. we bought my wife a 08 saturn vue (gm made) and its not a bad vehicle by any means, but its not up to par with what im used to in foreign made vehicles.
im hoping all goes well with timing and money and hummer's future. i may be buying one in half a year, give or take a couple of months. i hope im not disapointed with it.

What the hell is wrong with this country?
Never owned an American car and worried about it? All that BS hype is just that.......marketing hype.
Every import doesn't live up to.... "its not up to par with what I'm used to in foreign made vehicles".
You better be talking about high line Mercedes or Audi's..... because if you're referring to your Honda Civic as some incredible well made foreign sporty car...... you're gonna get slapped.

Re: possible Hummer brand sell and warrenty?
no its not. i have not owned any american vehicles because all those that i know that DO have had to make a few trips to the dealer per vehicle to get stuff fixed, and usually one major thing needed to be fixed per vehicle.
i have owned 3 japanese made cars (not manuf in america) all purchased new. the first, yes, a civic in 99. not one trip to the dealer. then a subaru impreza. one trip to replace the head unit. then my current 05 subaru wrx. no trips to the dealer for anything.
i know that american companies have been forced to step it up over the past few years because their "quality ratings" were getting stomped on by other car manuf.
so yes, american cars in the recent past have not been up to par, and if you refuse to admit it then you chose to be ignorant.
but im hoping that the current new focus on quailty will be a good thing for consumers AND the country in times where american dollars need to be put back into american companies.

Oh forgive me...... I didn't realize I was conversing with THE authority on the matter. "All those you know" .....well why didn't you say so originally.....now I get it.

How old are you? By the way it's spelled warranty.

We've always had american and foreign cars, although never had a honda, but I can say that the problems we have had with the American cars were typically driver induced or some silly fuse going out - which takes 30 seconds to fix. I agree that people do not give American cars a fair shake as far as reliability and options for the price they pay.
However, we have had many Mercedes and they have always had problems! I think they are over priced, heavy pieces of junk in my opinion.

Yeah...it could turn ugly soon.... as for me... The only non American car I ever owned was a 69 Bug... But that was when I was a hippy and smoked pot. One day I made a left..the chassis went left and the body went right then snapped back to the left over the body
I thought I was smoking some good chit when that happened ...then I realized the body had rusted thru it's mounts...
After that and still to day I support the American Automobile Industry and buy American. That's my story and I'm sticken with it.
My personal mission in life now is to burn every drop of oil they can pump out of the ground.
Gas....$15.00 a Gallon....No Problem...I'm Driven My 3..!!
