Note to GM
I got my note from GM about the winding down of Hummer dealerships. As a private business owner I then sent a letter to GM headquarters telling them how displeased I was about their decision to end the Hummer brand and complete a sale to other interested parties.
We buy 80 to 150 new pickups every year (depending on business) and I told GM in the letter, because of their Hummer decision we will not purchase anymore GM pickups, vans, or truck chasis. Not sure it will make much difference to them, but I'll feel better inside! My son took advantage of the 4000 cash deal and just bought a new 2010 red rock metallic H3 for 6800 below window price. We are now an all Hummer family.

Re: Note to GM
While I am not happy about the demise of Hummer it only makes sense. The world is changing and the pressure is on the car companies to build more efficient practical vehicles. I am sure we will be seeing smaller and smaller engines in the future. GM can't afford to produce the Hummer brand if the average fuel economy is awful at best and the demand for such a vehicle is so low. We were lucky to have them while they were around and can hang on a long time, but it's time has passed. At least the "muscle" cars have survived so far... If you feel that strongly I am sure FORD would appreciate your business!

Re: Note to GM
Good for you! It's your money and your decision. Personally, I don't think there's anything out there now like the Hummer. I don't like the way they turned down the legit offers after Tengzhong. A friend has a Predator and I've seen the Ford 450 dually Off4oad 4 X 4, but it's huge and wider than an H1, the Land Cruiser, The FJ, what's out there like a Hummer?
Reminds me of when Henry Ford refused to sell Delta Airlines the Tri Motor Ford because they were too little and wanted the image with larger Eastern or Pan Am in the '30s. Delta Founder, President and CEO Woolman gave away all their Ford trucks and a Ford truck, Explorer, etc didn't appear again on Delta soil until the late 80s when a Ford member was put on the board of directors!

Re: Note to GM
Been thinking and could it be that maybe they do not want to sell the brand in case they think about a retool and bringing it back to market later??? Once they sell it it is gone but shutting the doors they can always open them back up again. Dunno!
